Exciting News!!!
Whitley Bay Ice Skating Club is excited to announce that we will be holding a couple of technique and components skating workshops which will be hosted by Team GB Olympic skaters Penny Coomes and Nick Buckland. We are intending to offer one workshop to our under 21 members, and one to our adult members (21 and over).
The workshop will be held on Monday 28th May 2018 and the provisional format we are working on will be for the junior workshop to be held early morning through to late morning, with both on and off the ice sessions, and for the adult workshop to be held around lunch time onwards (please note the adult workshop is on ice only). Please note the timetable is currently provisional and may change once details of the workshops are finalised.
Both of the workshops have a limited number of spaces that we can offer. We intend to offer a free place on the workshop to any WBISC member who paid their membership on time in January, should they wish to participate. After this anyone who is a member and has fully paid between 1st February and 31st March will be entered into a draw to receive a free place, up to the maximum number of places we can offer.
Should there be any spare spaces left in either workshop after the draw then it will be opened up to anyone else who wishes to participate and they will be charged a fee for the workshop, cost to be confirmed.
Should you wish to be considered for the workshop, please send your membership details either by email to whitleybayisc@gmail.com or send us a message via our website. Once we have finalised details and have an idea of numbers we will confirm whether you have a guaranteed place or whether you will be entered into the draw for a free place. This will not be taking place until nearer the time once workshop details have been finalised, however we will try to give you as much notice as possible so arrangements can be made!
We expect this workshop to be extremely popular and the Club has decided to offer it at our cost (terms as above) as we consider it to be massively beneficial to our members. We would therefore respectfully ask members to only apply for a place if you are definitely intending to attend the workshop. There will be a charge for anyone failing to attend (exceptional circumstances only will be considered) if you have been allocated a free space as this will have taken away from someone else who could have benefitted from the experience.
We hope that everyone is as excited as we are about this fantastic opportunity and look forward to seeing as many as possible of you on the 28th May!!!
